If you get overwhelmed over how much you have to do, give yourself one (small) job to do every time you go in the garden. When you finish, visualise the next job you want to tackle. This will give structure to your activities.
Give your bird table a lift by painting it with a crazy preservative colour using a cheap sample pot. It goes just far enough for this small project.
Never buy liquid feed. Use a wormery and drain off putrified vegetable matter at its base. Use as you would a normal liquid feed.
If you indulge in the odd takeaway pizza don't throw away the polystyrene base. Keep to place in large plant pots to act as false bases to save potting compost.
Rather than dig over an uneven or stony piece of ground, cover with newspapers, add a layer of compost followed by a layer of topsoil. Plant as normal. The roots will grab onto the paper which will eventually rot down. Saves your back and immediately looks great!
